It makes a good display piece but if used to swing the paint isn't up to cutting more than paper. The flames are an acrylic like paint while the blade itself is anodized to be black. While the red would be better anodized and the black was painted. Other than that it's a full tang sword and can take a beating.The sword is very sharp I cut fruits and water bottles and it was very clean only thing I recommend is the wrapping on the handle to be made more properly cause some of it came of i tied it together but it's a very good swordVery cool katana worth the amount, but some pieces on the sheath need to be reattached as they come off. Had to call in, they resent, this time the case inside a box. He loved it!! Is his favorite character's sword. Very, very sharp. Very sturdy, has weight to it.
