It stopped working 6 days after I bought itUsing for job. 1 day use so, definitely comfortable and lighter than my Lincoln helmet. As other reviewers have already said, this really is a terrific value in a large-viewport helmet. The headgear is the best I've seen in a consumer-grade welding helmet. It holds all adjustments well and can be easily adjusted to stay solidly in the 'up' position and can then be flipped down with just a nod of the head. Excellent. The controls work very well and can all be adjusted while wearing TIG gloves. I set up an experiment to test the 'shade' adjustment; I put on the helmet and held an arc with my TIG torch in my right hand, then turned the shade knob back and forth with my left hand and watched the pretty blue flame get brighter and dimmer as I turned the adjustment knob back and forth. It really does work with amazing precision. I like it.It had one negative for me, and I still give it 5 stars because it's a personal thing: I wear eyeglasses and the shade adjustment system that's mounted on the inside of the helmet hit my glasses frame when the helmet was all the way down in the normal welding position. I removed the shade adjuster and drilled 3 new holes about 1 inch lower on the side of the helmet, then reinstalled the shade adjuster in the new holes. I covered the empty holes with black electrical tape on the inside and it works fine now.I practice-welded TIG for about an hour and the helmet performed flawlessly. I've owned several of the big-view helmets and they all seem to have problems with 'flashing' while TIG welding. So far this helmet has never flashed. I hope it stays that way.And it does operate perfectly under LED shop lighting.Ed B.It's greatI’ve had this helmet for 3 months and some change. Up until a couple days ago it’s worked great. The field of vision and clarity makes it really easy to work. The only draw back I’ve found is unfortunately if you aren’t careful you will be buying a new helmet. The sweat band absorbs a lot of sweat which is good because it keeps it out of your eyes. The only bad thing is since it is holding all of the sweat you should never take off the hood and lay it lens down. Whatever the sweat band is made of when this thing decides to drip sweat after taking it off it releases it like faucet. So needless to say I took it off after working outside laid it lens down and it poured into the electronics in the lens and now it won’t darken. Finding the replacement isn’t easy and I can’t seem to find on. So keep that in mind when using it be careful how you lay it down or replace the sweatband.this helmet works great, the shading and the protection it offers is all acceptable. works pretty good for mig, tig, stick, and flux core, so its a good helmet all around. bought the helmet during college to replace one that broke and its held up great since I bought it. the adjustment knobs on the back and sides don't wear out very quickly so, as previously stated before its a good quality helmet all the way around, would completely recommend to other people, hope this helps!I absolutely love this hoodLIKE THE TRUE COLOR VERY EASY TO SEE WHAT YOU ARE DOING
